Why Liposuction

For the millions of us who diet and work out regularly but still don’t see the results we want, there is hope with a plastic surgery procedure called liposuction.
Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as from the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. Liposuction also shapes (contours) these areas. Other names for liposuction include lipoplasty and body contouring.
Liposuction is used to remove fat from areas of the body that haven’t responded to diet and exercise, such as the Abdomen, Arms, Buttocks, Calves and ankles, Chest and back, Hips and thighs, Neck.
When you gain weight, fat cells increase in size and volume. In turn, liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in a specific area. The amount of fat removed depends on the appearance of the area and the volume of fat. The resulting contour changes are generally permanent — as long as your weight remains stable.

Recovering Following Liposuction

Dr. Osmanoglu takes steps to maximize comfort and minimize recovery time after the liposuction procedures he performs. Most patients can expect a few weeks of residual bruising and swelling, and may not feel back in the swing of things for about 5 to 7 days. Be sure to follow your post-op instructions for optimal results. Dr. Osmanoglu will share much more about safety and recovery during your consultation.
After the full recovery patients usually share the same feelings:
– Their clothes fit better
– Exercise is easier/more comfortable
– They are more satisfied with their body image
Don’t forget you can enjoy your slimmer look for years to come if you maintain a healthful diet and continue to exercise regularly.
To be a candidate for liposuction, you must be in good health without conditions that could complicate surgery — such as restricted blood flow, coronary artery disease, diabetes or a weak immune system.
