Health Coaching

Our professional Health Coaches are weight-loss mentors. Often, they have stood where you stand now, looking for a doable plan. They found it in Take Shape For Life and were so excited by the transformation it made in all areas that they become professional Health Coaches to help others lose weight and gain health.
How many times have you either heard (or said), “Diets just don’t work?” All too often, people who want to lose weight believe that their lack of success is the result of the wrong diet, their work schedule, their genes or a myriad of other reasons. We believe, however, that successful weight loss happens as a result of having the right mindset, understanding how your own excuses sabotage you, and living with Personal Integrity. It’s not about the circumstances; it’s about your ability to say what you are going to do, mean it and follow through on it.
A Health Coach does as much–or as little–as you need. He or she can cheer you on, motivate you, help you face challenges, show you the path to Optimal Health. Or your Health Coach can simply be a phone call away. You decide how much support you need.
In addition to developing your Personal Integrity around your weight loss goals, we look at what caused the weight to come on in the first place; a necessary step in getting it to stay off for good. Past and current upsets need to be resolved and patterns need to be discovered and corrected. And, if your knowledge of nutritional matters is lacking, you will learn how to eat healthy and in a way that is consistent with your goals.

Our healthy eating program will show you how to cultivate a healthier palate, control your appetite, and make the best choices for Optimal Health. In no time, these good behaviors will become habits!
Regular exercise is essential for good health. It not only improves our appearance, but it strengthens our muscles—including our hearts—and lifts our mood. Regular exercise lowers risk of heart disease/stroke/diabetes, improves mood, lowers blood pressure, reduces stress, build stronger muscles/joints/bones, increases metabolism, improves bone density as the body ages.
Healthy sleep is essential for a Healthy Body and Mind. Lack of sleep affects us in a number of ways far more serious than foggy thinking, decreased productivity, and irritability. Poor sleep habits can cause increased inflammation and even obesity. That’s because sleep-deprived* people produce an excess of a hormone known to increase appetite (ghrelin) and a deficit of the hormone that tells you to stop eating (leptin). Getting restful sleep is important, and improved physical health and well being will ultimately lead to good sleep behaviors.
